Payment for Design
I accept payments through Paypal only. At the beginning of a custom design, I will send you an invoive for a non-refundable 50% deposit. The remaining 50% is due upon design completion. By paying the deposit and remaining balance Paypal invoice(s) that you receive from Elegant Custom Blogs, you agree to these terms of design.
Family-Friendly Blogs ONLY
I will absolutely NOT work on your blog if it contains any offensive or questionable material, pictures, ads, etc. This includes but is not limited to p*rnography, s*xual references, profanity, racism, etc. The rule I go by is that if your blog is not appropriate for my children to see while I work on your design, I will not be able to accept your blog order.
Communication
All blog design communication is done via email only. Unfortunately, I am not able to provide consultations by phone due to the number of clients I work with at a time and my responsibilites/time as a wife, mom, and full-time software developer.
Please check your email frequently during your blog design. This helps the process go more quickly and smoothly. Also, I will work with one person only for a specified blog design. If you are working with a group, please designate ONE person for blog design communication with me. Thank you. Please note -- Once a design has started, it is crucial that you reply back to emails as soon as possible because other clients are waiting in the queue. Any client that does not reply to emails within 3 working days (Mon-Fri) will be charged an additional 10% fee.
Refunds / Cancellations
I do not issue refunds on either deposits or full payments under any circumstance.
Privacy
Elegant Custom Blogs is not liable for any photos provided by clients for use in blog design. It is the customer's responsiblity to ensure that all photos are submitted with the appropriate permissions. Additionally, Elegant Custom Blogs is not responsible for any personal information you include on your blog (names, photos, etc). Basic safety precautions should be taken with all on-line information.
The email address and contact information you give me will never be shared with anyone for any reason. Your blog log-in information is required only so that I can install the blog design for you on your blog. If you are concerned about sharing your login information, please consider temporarily changing it while I am working on your blog design. Once I have installed your design, you can change your login information to be ensured that it stays private. However, again, I will NEVER give out your personal, contact, or login information.
Order Form
Please complete the order form as thoroughly as possible when placing an order. The more details you give me the better! If you have a specific background you want to use or specific ideas about how you want your blog to look (or NOT look), please let me know that up front. Any changes requested after I start on your blog will cause the blog design to take longer and may result in additional charges.
iStockPhoto Images
I love iStockPhoto.com images! If you have an idea for an image you would like included, I will be happy to use an iStock image. I charge $1.52/credit for iStock images and they typically run 2-15 credits each. I reserve the right to reuse images on future designs.
Design Credit
If you are happy with your blog design, would you tell others? During the installation of your blog design, I will place my sidebar button on your blog to give design credit to Elegant Custom Blogs. I may also used a screenshot of your finished blog design in my Portfolio.
Revisions
At the beginning of each new design project, I will send the client a Design Questionnaire that helps me identify their needs, define their style, and determine a price quote for the project. I have found that asking many questions up front helps the design go smoothly and makes hitting the target much easier! It is very important that the client fills out the design questionnaire as completely as possible with as many details as possible. A project may have up to three revisions -- further changes will be billed at $50/hour.The client will be asked to approve various parts of the design throughout the design process. Each approval allows me to build the next part of the design in a cohesive way. Once an aspect of the design has been approval, additional revisions to that portion of the design will be billed at $50/hour.
Once your design is installed, you will be given the chance to review and approve the design. Any changes or add-ons after your approval will be treated as new work and you will be charged based on the time involved in making the changes. Before beginning any 'new' work, I will give you an estimate of cost so that we are both familiar with the process before new work is started.
I do not store your design files due to space limitations. If you feel like you may want to update the photos/wording/font color in your header design, I will be happy to store your design files for a $10 storage fee. For minor updates like photo changes in blog headers, or font/color changes, I will only charge you $10, rather than the complete re-design fee, if I have your design files stored. Please specify when you order if you would like for me to store your design files for potential future updates.
